Description
This large carboy is made of purple-pink bubbled glass. It is a vintage rhumtopf bottle or pot typical of the 1960s. It is mouth-blown using an artisanal technique characteristic of biot glassware. We see, at the base, the trace of the break of the cane to blow the glass - and on the side, the biot stamp applied hot. The lid is made of cork with a round glass grip. Biot bubbled glass has existed since 1956, the glassmakers then succeeded in creating bubbled glass: by controlling the bubble, imprisoning it between two layers of glass, thus turning a defect into a quality. Between tradition and creation, each biot glassware is unique, because it is mouth-blown by master glassmakers. Depending on the season, the products come in all colors: sand rose, lime, amethyst, persian blue... Pastel and sparkling colors at the same time. In good condition, this cylinder measures 31 cm in height and 15 cm in diameter. I note scratches from use. There are traces of glue under the glass grip of the lid.
