Rare suite of 5 tankards, mugs, set of hand-painted vases by mado jolain. France, 1950s we fell in love with this subtle design and decor as well as their volumes and the multiple possibilities of use. They served here as vases for a long time. Height: 14 cm diameter: 9 cm the whole is in excellent general condition considering their age. Note some missing parts on the bottom of one of them. Mado jolain essentially created ceramics for the home, the art of the table and that of the garden. She had a preference for simple, structured and pinched shapes so that the subtle play of light and shadow could flourish there. Its use of color and its partially enameled decorations have become stylized over time and are as identifiable as they are rare. It was not until 1948 that the ceramics of mado jolain, trained in arts déco during the occupation, were exhibited for the first time at the salon des ateliers d'arts décoratifs in paris.
