This magnificent jar can hold some large branches or twigs but will mainly become the centrepiece of a decoration, placed on the floor or on a piece of furniture. This ceramic is original and rare in more than one way: first, its significant size makes it a piece that catches the eye at first glance. Its jar shape is quite unique in the production of the Faïencerie Héraldique de Pierrefonds, with soft, rounded lines. And its wonderful glazing, almost iridescent, in pastel tones of light blue and light green, revealing, in places, the ecru and caramel clay in "bubbles" and "flashes". Lastly, another originality is that this jar is signed "Pierrefonds" in relief in the material, by hand, in cursive writing rather than with the more usual "stamped helmet". It seems that this mark is mainly used on pieces from the end of production, particularly on so-called "pulverulent" glazes; unfortunately, I have not found more information. Regarding the dating of this jar, I can only specify that the pottery was established in 1903 and operated until 1986. This jar is not typical of the Art Deco creations of the pottery, so I would lean towards it being made in the second half of the 20th century, but without certainty. If you know more, I would be delighted to learn more about the ceramics of Pierrefonds. It is in perfect condition, with no cracks, chips, or even a scratch. It measures 30 cm in height and approximately 26 cm in maximum diameter.
