LC2. Pair of Grand Confort armchairs, small model. Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, Charlotte Perriand. 1928. Cassina edition, signed and numbered. The armchairs are in very good condition, with the leather and chrome cleaned. Charlotte Perriand describes the Grand Confort armchair in her autobiography as a "basket of cushions." Indeed, this enveloping structure made of tubular metal holds a set of cushions forming the seat and backrest. It was at the Autumn Salon of 1929 that the range of tubular furniture was first presented to the public. In a double-height space of nearly 90 m², Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, and Charlotte Perriand showcased their proposals for the interior furnishings of a home.
