This monumental wardrobe in solid oak and walnut stands out for its exceptional proportions and architecturally structured composition inspired by classical design. It belongs to the stylistic movement of the Transition period between the end of Louis XVI's reign and the early years of the 19th century. Its formal vocabulary, marked by symmetrical rigor and the use of architectural elements, reflects a neoclassical aesthetic still imbued with decorative traditions from the end of the Ancien Régime. The façade, strictly symmetrical, is organised around two wide doors framed by side posts treated as fluted pilasters. This vertical structuring, inspired by ancient architecture, gives the whole a solemn and ordered elevation. Each door consists of superimposed panels. The upper part features a moulded panel with a radiating decoration forming a rose, set within a scalloped frame. The lower part is animated by geometric panels in high relief, with diamond and lozenge patterns. These decorative elements, inherited from the classical repertoire, are interpreted with a sculptural vigour that underscores the monumentality of the piece. The side posts are enriched with fluting and vertically sculpted motifs, enhancing the effect of integrated architecture.
