Large antique trunk (wardrobe) from transatlantic travel that belonged to Baron de Koenigswarter, a French diplomat (plenipotentiary minister). * Period: mid-20th century (1920-1950) * Brand: Ermett (engraved on the lock) * Material: brown ribbed metal. * Original brass fittings and reinforcements. * Monogram "JK" * Period painted marking: "Embassy of France" * Label: Baron de Koenigswarter – 610 Fifth Avenue, New York. * Travel label French Line – Transatlantic. * Original patina. * Normal signs of use for an antique trunk. * Period interior (houndstooth paper fabric, oxidised in places) Length: 97cm.
