Vintage Complete School Box with Twelve Stamps About Christmas - Nativity Scene.

It is made in portugal by agatha - fábrica de material didáctico. A company that used to produce school material in the 1950's. This box is complete with 12 (twelve) rubber and wooden stamps illustrating christmas, more precisely the nativity scene and the surrounding iconography. In other words, each stamp illustrates an element or figure that composes the nativity scene. The christmas represented here is deeply religious and catholic, therefore we have the holy family with jesus in the manger; mary the mother of jesus and joseph the father. There is a stamp with the cow and another one with the donkey; a stamp with the angel and another one with the guiding star, the one that guided the magi. Two stamps representing shepherds and finally three stamps with the three wise men, some with a camel and others standing. All together, this box of stamps draws the very popular and charismatic image of the christian religious christmas. Curiously, the stamps in this box have two different sizes and shapes: the long and rectangular ones are 4 (four); the smaller and square ones are 8 (eight). I think the photographs illustrate well the state of preservation of this stamp box, so it is essential to see the photographs in their entirety. For me, this box and these stamps are in good vintage condition. As you can see the stamps have been used and probably used a lot, so they are very stained with old ink on the rubber and also on the wood. Despite the wear and use, the rubber stamps are intact, have no defects, are with all the details of the original design. The cardboard box also shows some wear, particularly on the corners and edges, and with discoloration stains and some printing ink. The paper itself is yellowed by time. Still preserves the original label. Signs of time and use, which give it a true patina. Despite use and age these stamps still print very well, of course the pressure force interferes with the definition of the stamp.
