Pair of 19th century French table lamps

Pair of antique empire style dolphin/koi fish candlestick table lamps, spelled and brass, 19th century, French. This pair of old lamps has been gently cleaned while respecting the aged patina. They are newly rewired, grounded, pat tested by an electrician and ready for use. Each has the following new components: lamp holder with a cream card cover, gold silk cable, black cord switch, black socket (uk plug up to 250v) and clip-on pleated cream silk shade. These lamps can be used with a dimmer. It is possible to use these lights in other countries with a bulb suitable for local electricity. Presented here is a beautiful pair of Empire period candlesticks in neoclassical form circa 1830 converted into lamps. They have several design features typical of the French empire period: the dolphin theme, the combination of regency and neoclassical styles, elegant proportions, luxury materials, clean molding and heavy weight. The elongated shape and elegant proportions make these lamps well proportioned for the bedside or hallway. The design is classic, timeless and decorative. They would suit a range of interiors such as antique, art deco, traditional, Hollywood regency, postmodern, industrial or contemporary. The design consists of solid polished brass and spelled candlesticks. Most of the green and gold enamel paint is still present on the metal. There is an attractive patina developed over the years which contrasts with the gold toned brass. These antique lamps are in very good condition for their age. The frames are sound, with no damage or broken parts. The metal surfaces are in overall good condition with the original antique patina preserved, adding character and depth. The enamel and gilding have faded over the years, exposing the metal underneath. There are superficial marks and patina in places consistent with age. The 2 lampshades are new and in very good condition.
