Pair of LCM Eames Vitra armchairs

The lcm chair is part of vitra's plywood collection. Lcm stands for lounge chair metal and is a design by designer couple charles and ray eames. The experiments with glulam were the beginning of a search for new procedures for charles and ray eames to adapt rigid materials to the silhouette of the human body. The design of the plywood chair clearly shows the idea of three-dimensionally deformed glulam shells. The layers of wood are deformed to produce the plywood group. The thin wooden shells of the back and seat support the body with the slightly curved surfaces. All elements are fixed with elastic rubber discs to the base and offer additional seating comfort.
