Magnificent pair of vintage bedside tables from SIMAT, a high-end subsidiary of the famous French company Doubinski Frères (a major publisher of the 60s/70s that collaborated with Raymond Loewy). Manufactured in St Pierre des Corps in the late 70s to early 80s, these pieces follow the French brutalist and modernist design trend in the vein of Pierre Chapo and Maison Regain. Made of solid elm (with integrated bands and handles) and thick elm veneer. Ergonomic band handles across the full width of the drawers. Ideal for a bedroom but can also serve as end tables or side tables beside a designer sofa. Original label from the manufacturer inside a drawer for each bedside table (see photo). Very good overall condition, sound structure, sliding drawer. Some minor signs of use, as seen in the photos, which attest to their authenticity. Dimensions: width 56 cm, depth 42 cm, height 47.5 cm.
