Set of 4 Cees Braakman for Pastoe Dining Chairs SM08 - new upholstery

A stylish set of four Pastoe SM08 dining chairs, designed by Cees Braakman. These chairs are a fine example of the clear, functional design with which Pastoe made a name for itself in the 1950s and 1960s. The SM08, fully named _Chair Metal 08_, is characterized by its slender aluminum frame and light, balanced design. The combination of metal, teak, and leather gives the chairs a timeless appearance, with the different materials complementing each other in a natural way. This set has been fully restored. The teak backrests have been carefully refinished, allowing the warm wood color and natural grain to shine beautifully. The aluminum frame has also been thoroughly polished, restoring its well-kept appearance. The seats have been reupholstered with genuine leather in a beautiful brown color. The leather adds warmth and character to the sleek design and forms an stylish combination with the teak and metal. Cees Braakman’s design is distinguished by its clean lines, thoughtful construction, and understated elegance. Thanks to their slender silhouette, the chairs appear airy at the dining table, while the combination of materials provides ample character. They fit excellently in a modern or mid-century interior, but also blend well with contemporary furniture and natural materials. A complete set of four restored Pastoe SM08 chairs, where the original design has been carefully preserved and the materials have beautifully come back to life.
