An antique bronze cigar lighter.

An antique cigar lighter in gilded bronze shaped like a satyr smoking a large cigar. This is a bronze figure from the 19th century, finely cast and carved. The head has a reservoir that, once filled with oil, can be used to light a cigar from a burning wick-shaped cigar in the satyr's mouth. The satyr figure rests on a base with three hooves. The underside shows a multi-part casting, screwed together, which is typical of decorative moulded objects from this era. It resembles an ashtray or smoker's catchall intended to be placed on a desk or coffee table. H: 28 cm, W: 35 cm, D: 27 cm, weight: 2450 g. Very good condition. Starting price.
