Description
Indiana model dish from Maison Clairefontaine from the second half of the 19th century. This large dish, octagonal in shape, features the famous baroque flowers designed by the 18th century ornamentist Jean Pillement. The Clairefontaine earthenware factory was rewarded at the 1878 Universal Exhibition in Paris for its collection of majolica enamel items and the octagonal-shaped Indiana table service. This is a rare piece! The service is marked with marine anchor and "rs" for rigal and sanejouand (management 1860-1885). Note: a crack + a chip on one edge and a barely visible chip below.
