Serge Detriaux - City Map - abstract painting oil on panel, ca 1988. Biography: Serge Detriaux (1919–1996) was a Belgian painter known for his abstract works, mainly in oil on panel. Active from the 1950s onwards, he developed a refined style, playing with colors, textures, and simple shapes. He received little media attention, but remains appreciated by collectors for the consistency of his work and the poetic atmosphere of his compositions. His paintings often bear evocative titles, such as Hope of a Dream or Veil of Flames.
