Description
Pretty turquoise pitcher by the belgian ceramist artist alexandre gempfenstein (known as "de wemmel"). He was born in odessa, ukraine, in 1909, he emigrated to belgium in 1918. His pottery, which began in 1925, made him famous especially in his braided-coved productions, around 1950, as for this copy. Dimensions: 16 X 16 X 12 cm. Good general condition, no shine, the cove was broken clean and glued back which makes it barely visible (see highlighted in the photos).
