Bedside table with secret drawers bedside table

This charming bedside in varnished light wood with pretty shapes in "braces", thin feet, slender and slightly curved, reserves some surprises! In addition to its small front drawer, it has two small secret drawers on the sides, very thin, whose ring-shaped handles are almost hidden because just below the upper tray. One is a simple small shelf, perhaps to put a glass, the other is pierced with a hole and has a small round receptacle in gilded metal. I imagine that originally it was used as an ashtray but today it can be used to hide a little gem, or why not to present business cards or some sweets in a shop entrance. It's probably a bedside from the late 70s or early 80s. It is of good quality: solid wood, dovetail drawer mounting, neat handles in gilded metal. I dusted it well and passed a very thin layer of satin varnish, to unify the colors a little and protect it for its future adventures. It is in good structural condition, stable and solid, without cracks or lacks, but does not hide its age and the traces of its previous lives: small marks on the board (small scratches or marks of blows, not very visible) and two circular traces (partial for one), more visible, but not so much. As you will have understood, it is wet glasses or hot cups that are at the origin. It is 63 cm high, 41 cm wide, 29 cm deep. It weighs about 3 kg.
