Vico Magistretti ‘veranda 1-2-3-‘ sofa for Cassina, 80

The inspiration for the veranda series (which was born in 1983 with an armchair, a two-seater sofa and a coffee table), is at the term “veranda”, which Vico Magistretti describes as transversal to various cultures: an environment that indicates a threshold between the outside and interior, between the house and the garden, but also a new way of sitting, less “canonical” that ranges from sitting to lying down, on a “floating sail” in the room. The veranda series in 1984 expands with the veranda 3 three-seater sofa in which the central seat element is fixed, while the two side ones rotate forward creating a semicircular configuration in the center of which the base platform acts as a table top also. This orginal piece is in very good condition consistent with age and use.
