Box turtle wood and mother-of-pearl

Cute little turtle-shaped box in light wood varnished with mother-of-pearl decoration on the shell and head. The very fine mother-of-pearl elements are not embedded in the wood, they seem rather stuck on it. I have no information, neither on his origin nor on his age. It is in good general condition, no cracks or great lacks, but has some marks of use: small marks or stains, the varnish is probably less shiny than originally, a little passed in places and on the edge of the carapace, it has, a small white spot and an abrasion on about one cm. It measures 12 cm in length, 8 cm in width, 5 cm in height and weighs about 70 g.
