This elegant pair of gilded mirrors dates from the second half of the 19th century, napoleon III era, circa 1870. Around each large rectangular mirror plate is a highly detailed carved faux bamboo giltwood frame, with a superb patina, mounted on a solid oak structure. Its neoclassical style is strongly inspired by the chinoiserie and japonism very fashionable under napoleon III. The mirror frame has been reupholstered with a jacquard fabric from métaphores, silk decorated with flowers, roses, poppies and motley foliage composing a delicate decor. The mirrors have all been replaced as one was missing when the parts were purchased. They have both been completely restored, with a complete cleaning and some re-gilding with gold leaf. A complete restoration file with photos is available on request. The pair of maison jansen poufs, shown in a few photos, and reupholstered with the same fabric, are also for sale and available.
