Vintage 19th-century bistro chair made of curved solid wood and caned in the Thonet style.

Vintage bistro chair in curved wood and caning, fitting into the classic style of the famous Thonet firm or its historical competitors from the late 19th or early 20th century such as Fischel, J. & J. Kohn, or Baumann. Unlike the most common Thonet models like the famous Chair No. 14 with its streamlined arched backrest, this model features a slatted backrest with turned posts and central rungs styled like bamboo, topped with small decorative finials at the ends. The circular seat showcases traditional manual caning (spider web weaving with 6 strands). The traditional circular wooden reinforcement under the seat stabilises the base. The caning is in good condition. Width 43, depth 45, height 36/82.
