Golden Metal Chandelier with Leaf Decoration and Amber Glass Drops. Work
This chandelier features a central shaft adorned with golden sheet metal foliage from which four sinuous arms of light radiate, with the bulbs set in elegant frosted glass corollas with scalloped edges. A profusion of amber glass drops mounted on stems and beads is suspended throughout its height, from the top to the ends of the arms, creating a beautiful golden rain effect. The shell-shaped bélier cover completes the composition. This Italian work from the 1950s illustrates the tradition of Florentine gilded iron adorned with blown glass drops, a descendant of the 18th-century girandoles, highly valued in the refined interiors of the post-war era. Condition report: Overall good condition. Gilding with a warm and even patina, amber drops in excellent apparent condition. Electricity checked by an electrician. A warm and luminous chandelier for an entrance, a bedroom, or a charming dining room.
