Hydra Floor Lamp by Pierre Folie for Jacques Charpentier, France, 1970s

An exceptional lamp post, emblematic of French design from the Space Age of the 1970s: the "Hydra" model, designed by Pierre Folie and produced by Jacques Charpentier. With its sculptural shape and refined golden finish, this light fixture combines a futuristic aesthetic with a warm and luxurious appearance. Its characteristic articulated arms allow for the light to be directed as desired, making the "Hydra" both a functional light source and a remarkable design object. Dating from the 1970s, this piece comes with valuable documentation: it is supplied with the original manufacturer's brochure as well as the period purchase invoice. • Designer: Pierre Folie • Publisher / Manufacturer: Jacques Charpentier • Model: Hydra • Origin: France • Era: 1970s • Finish: Gold • Condition: Very good overall condition, showing light patina.
