Large Art Deco Etling France bowl in opalescent glass with anemone decoration. Created by the Choisy-le-Roi crystal works for Edmond Laurent Etling's art boutiques, this fruit bowl or large bowl is made of molded blown glass and dates from the Art Deco period (1920-1939). A tripod bowl, this bowl is designed to sit in the center of a table or dresser to enhance the objects and food items placed within. Highly decorative, its appearance is a work of art in itself: its opalescent glass with its floral decoration inspired by twisted anemones offers a remarkable visual quality to the viewer, both near and far. These colors, ranging from azure blue to opalescent transparency, have made the objects offered in the Etling boutiques famous, often compared to the creations of René Lalique. Signed "Etling France, " these once decorative pieces are now masterpieces of the Roaring Twenties, prized and highly collectible. Bearing the number 63 (its model number), this Etling France fruit bowl is in very good overall condition. There are slight signs of use on the inside of the bottom of the bowl (scratches), but these are discreet and invisible from a distance (or once full).
