Clear pressed glass diffuser composed of two matching sections with a chrome-plated metal support and metal wall plate. European production, 1970s. European wall light produced during the 1970s. The diffuser is composed of two matching sections of clear pressed glass, assembled to create a faceted diamond-shaped volume. The thickness of the glass and its subtly undulating surface gently distort the light source, while the internal chrome-plated metal frame gives the diffuser the appearance of floating away from the wall plate. A construction typical of European lighting from the period, when pressed glass was widely used to enhance light through simple geometric forms. Good condition. It may show signs of age and use.
