Buffet / sideboard in elm by Jean Touret and Les Artisans de Lozère circa 1957/1958. Dimensions: Length: 194. Depth: 52. Height: 95. Founded in 1957-1958, the Artisans and Farmers of Lozère represent a significant chapter in post-war French furniture. This cooperative combines rural craftsmanship, contemporary design, and the promotion of wood and iron trades to provide supplementary income for Lozère artisans and farmers. Guided by Jean Touret and later enriched by numerous creators and artisans, it developed authentic furniture that is now highly sought after by collectors. Its creations notably furnish the Les Arcs resorts and several projects in Savoie. Dissolved in the 1990s, the cooperative leaves an essential legacy in the history of French design, Lozère craftsmanship, and furniture from the 1950s to the 1980s.
