Danish sculptor and industrial designer jens quistgaard (1919-2008) had a long and successful career in denmark and the us, especially during the 1950s and 1960s. His best-known and most commercially successful works were produced by dansk designs, an american company. Dansk designs brought quistgaard and his reduced scandinavian design aesthetic to the united states. His work has been exhibited in museums around the world, including the danmark design museum in copenhagen, the victoria & albert museum in london, the national museum in stockholm, the metropolitan museum of art and the museum of modern art in new york, the louvre in paris and the museum of applied arts in berlin. The salad cutlery: Early dansk cutlery was made in germany, then production moved to denmark, france and finland, and later to korea, japan and china.
