Baluster Floor Lamp in Sculpted Polychrome Wood with Fruit Clusters. Work

This floor lamp features a baluster shaft made of turned and carved wood, marked by bulges and rings, adorned with two crowns of fruit in high relief — bunches of grapes, apples, pears, and foliage — treated in polychrome. The deliberately worn cream patina reveals orange and green highlights, with the top in a fluted cornice receiving the electrification. The whole rests on a matching moulded square base. This vocabulary of fruity balusters and patinated polychromes is characteristic of Italian production from the 1950s, inheriting the baroque tradition of Venetian and Tuscan carved woods, updated in a decorative, rustic, and refined spirit. Condition report: Good overall condition. Original polychrome with intentional decorative wear. A characterful floor lamp, to be topped with a generous lampshade for a charming living room or bedroom.
