Wrought iron cm - fifteenth century - visible accidents. Wrought iron this unusual chimney plate is formed by four horizontal iron plates connected by powerful rivets. Adorned with two fleurs-de-lis (one missing). On both sides, rings were to serve as a fastener, or suspension. Cast iron plates appear at the beginning of the fifteenth century but become widespread only around 1500. In some regions they were made of granite (brittany) or terracotta (auvergne). Here we have a rare example of plate of design prior to those made of cast iron. Condition: general oxidation - a missing fleur-de-lis. Lunges, uplifts. May be a missing lower blade.
