First edition of 1981 of a superb complete set of 12 franklin mint porcelain tea cups with 24k hand-gilded finish, the details and colors are simply stunning.- rare edition! The twelve flowers of the year oriental tea cups are a set of porcelain cups created by kinuko yamabe of japan and commissioned by franklin mint in 1981. H 8.2 cm, diameter 5.5 cm. All copies are noted with the japanese text, japan, 1981. On each of the 12 cups is a flower that adapts to the month. 
january- plum blossom february - peach blossom march - peony april - cherry blossom may - magnolia june - pomegranate july - lotus august - pear blossom september - mallow october - cheysanthemum november - gardenia december - poppy. 
the cups include two proofs of authenticity and a description for each cup. I am missing 2 months of description! The wooden cabinet with cups weighs about 2.5 kg, the dimensions are 467 X 282 X 73 mm. Lot in excellent condition.
