Authentic and superb large jewellery box by the famous ceramist from Lunel, Mithé Espelt (1923-2020), dating from the 1960s. This elongated model features a lid made up of three inset glazed ceramic tiles. The decoration consists of three stylised flowers in bright colours (red, orange, and white) enhanced with green leaves. The base is characteristic of Espelt's work with its richly crackled gold glaze. The base of the box is made of black-stained wood. Designer: Mithé Espelt (unsigned, listed model, characteristic of her production) Period: Circa 1960. Materials: Stamped terracotta, polychrome glaze, gold highlights, wooden structure. Dimensions: Approximately 26 X 9.5 cm, height 6 cm. ⚠️ CONDITION (Please carefully look at the photos): The box is sold as is with its signs of age, making it a perfect piece for restoration or for collectors accepting signs of use: A significant visible accident (missing piece and roughly re-glued break) on the central front edge of the ceramic lid (see dedicated photos). A few small chips and superficial nicks on the corners and edges of the lid. The black wooden structure shows slight legitimate signs of wear. Please contact me before any purchase. Very careful shipping.
