Gien plate Decor Rouen

Antique Gien plate – Rouen decoration – circa 1940-1960. A breath of history runs through this plate signed Gien, decorated in the style known as "Rouen", a tribute to the great French faïences of the 17th century. Amidst floral arabesques, baroque escapes, and deep blue highlights accented with red and yellow, it embodies a tradition of ornamentation that is both sumptuous and refined. Produced between 1940 and 1960, this plate bears a typical stamp from the post-war period, when the Gien pottery, with its two-century-old expertise, reinterpreted classic decorations with exceptional craftsmanship. On its own, it evokes a table art that never sacrifices beauty for simplicity. To be hung, displayed, or used daily as a touch of historical elegance. In very good vintage condition: no chips, beautiful colours, very shiny, no micro scratches from use, just two or three tiny nicks on the edges that are barely visible. Diameter 25 cm, height 3 cm.
