Thai lime pot

Old sandstone lime pot, with orange-brown cover, origin from thailand. These zoomorphic pots were actually used to store the lime paste used for the traditional betel quid. They are typical of productions from the khmer era of the 11th-13th centuries. The stylized character and warm aspect of the material make it a timeless and universal object.
