Chair thonet early twentieth century. Dining chairs were originally designed by the tuna company in 1904 and can be found in tuna sales catalogs under model number 3. It is believed that this particular piece was manufactured by the tuna company in one of its factories in the former czechoslovakia. The seat is made of leather and the round seat with the thin circular support and soft bow of the legs are both a trademark of tuna design in the early 20th century, and the subtle curvature at the front of the chair makes the seat even more comfortable. This detail was then widely used from the 1930s onwards. These types of chairs were very popular not only for their comfort, but they were also often used by architects in restaurants around the world. We believe this is due to the essence of their design that fits perfectly into any interior – whether modern or traditional. The chair is in excellent vintage condition with only minor wear and patina acquired over the years. Dimensions: h80 X w59 X d50.
