Viennese chair in curved wood by j-j kohn. The chair is entirely made of wood, with a pyrograved seat. With original labels and registration numbers. In excellent condition. H85 X l43 X p38. Jacob and josef kohn, also known as j. J. Kohn, was an austrian furniture manufacturer based in vienna. Jacob kohn and his son josef kohn founded the company in 1849. Kohn would later become one of the leading furniture manufacturers in austria-hungary, becoming one of the main competitors of gebr-der thonet. The kohn have received numerous awards, including a royal spanish arrest warrant as suppliers to the royal household. Kohn's works are now visible in many museums, including the museum of modern art in new york and the disseny hub barcelona.
