French Mid-Century / 1960s 4 Light Chandelier In The Style of Jacques Adnet

A striking and highly decorative 1960s French chandelier attributed to Jacques Adnet, featuring an elegant combination of brass, clear glass and acrylic in a distinctive Mid-Century design. The chandelier is centred around a substantial brass central column surrounded by 12 long, clear glass rods, creating a wonderfully architectural and sculptural appearance. The combination of the glass rods and warm brass gives the piece a particularly elegant presence when illuminated. Beneath the central column is a black metal finial with a tiered square clear acrylic detail, secured by a decorative brass screw. The four gracefully curved brass arms extend from this lower section, each terminating in a square acrylic candle-drip holder. The candle drips are finished in cream and retain some light age-related wear, adding to the authentic character of this vintage piece. The chandelier hangs from a large decorative hoop, 14-link brass chain, finished with a decorative cup-style ceiling fitter, completing the sophisticated period design. The light has its French twin core wiring and takes 4 bulbs small screw in type E14s. In good vintage condition, with some age-related patina and surface marks to the brass consistent with its age.The 12 clear glass rods are complete and in good condition, with no cracks. The acrylic components and cream candle drips have some light age-related marks and wear, consistent with age and previous use. Overall, the chandelier presents beautifully and retains its authentic vintage character and charm.
