Sarreguemines tureen

This beautiful vintage french soup tureen from a famous collection, in iron earth (earthenware). The model or motif called 'obernai' is a symbolic collection manufactured by the famous earthenware factories of sarreguemines in the early 1900s. The illustrations were works by henri loux (pronounced "louxe") between 1904 and 1906. They were originals of 52 different traditional alsatian scenes with pretty unique colors known in the region. This one features a red floral pattern with traditional alsatian urban decor. Top diameter of the tureen 20cm height without lid 20cm total height 19cm.
