Vintage polychrome Florentine mirror – Italy, 1950s

Very beautiful vintage mirror in Florentine style, richly decorated with scrolls, foliage, and floral motifs in high relief. Its sculptural frame, entirely flowing and openwork, draws inspiration from the Italian Baroque and Rococo vocabulary. The glass is highlighted by an elegant frieze of raised pearls, while the framing displays generous scrolls and particularly expressive plant decoration. Lovely old polychromy in shades of olive green, terracotta, bronze, and antique gold, which gives the whole piece a lot of depth and character. The structure of the mirror is made from a moulded/composite material, typical of certain decorative productions from the mid-20th century, and then finely hand-painted in a warm and patinated palette. A decorative object full of personality, straddling the line between a mirror and a wall sculpture, ideal for an entrance, a bedroom, a bathroom, or to add a Baroque and Italian touch to a contemporary interior.
