Very beautiful tapestry taken from the Queen Matilda tapestry visible in Bayeux. Taken from the Battle of Hastings in 1066 which allowed William the Conqueror to become King of England. This sequence shows Harold Earl of Wessex the usurper of the English throne shot in the eye by an arrow and William Duke of Normandy charging the Anglo-Saxon troops. The Bayeux Tapestry is a testimony to the medieval period in Normandy and England, which is found nowhere else, evoking daily life in the 11th century. This tapestry from the Flanders factory will adorn your interior with a historical touch. In very good condition, beautiful colors. Label on the back: Tapestry of the Lion of Flanders. Care: vacuum dust. Do not expose to the wall with prolonged exposure to the sun. Fully lined and with a tapestry rod sleeve.
