This exquisite Art Deco vase with a sea motif was designed by Nils Thorsson for Aluminia, later part of Royal Copenhagen, Denmark, in the 1930s. Part of the 'Solbjerg' series, it features a rare relief motif of flounders and scallops. The vase has a wide body and stands elegantly on a fluted centered foot. It is signed on the bottom with the Aluminia Denmark logo and 'Denmark.' Nils Thorsson, a Swedish-Danish ceramic artist, was a prolific designer known for his mid-century Danish modernist works. He served as Artistic Director of Aluminia and later Royal Copenhagen, creating iconic designs that remain highly collectible today.
