Travertine coffee table by PA Giusti and E. Di Rosa for Up&Up, Italy

Rare square coffee table with a round travertine leg by pier alessandro giusti and egidio di rosa for the famous publisher up&up. Heirs to the prosperous period of italian design from the 1950s, these two architect-designers mainly designed pieces of furniture and decorative objects in marble in a very elegant and opulent style. The italian publisher up & up is renowned for the originality and quality of its exceptional creations in marble and travertine, and has worked with the greatest italian designers: enzo mari, ettore sottass, michele de luccchi, alessandra mendini, angelo mangiarotti… the top rests on a cylindrical foot made of a single block of travertine. A round patina under the top allows it to be inserted on the foot. This design provides great stability to the whole. It is vintage but has never been used because it comes directly from the stock of a french distributor who acquired it in the early 80s. Perfect condition. Uniformity of appearance, no stains or cracks. Its raw appearance preserves the authenticity and minerality of the stone.
