Old marine painting signed Aiveill – fishing sailboat, early 20th century.

An old oil on canvas signed Aiveill, depicting a fishing sailboat at sea, surrounded by several vessels on the horizon. The composition is particularly successful due to the drawing of the rigging, the figures on board, the lively treatment of the sea, and the atmosphere of the sky. The canvas is mounted on its original frame bearing a Lefranc stamp as well as the mark of Charles Dalles, Perpignan, a supplier of artist materials. The reverse also bears the indication "4 M", corresponding to a traditional French marine format. Artist: Aiveill. Subject: sailboat / marine. Period: early 20th century, around 1900–1920.
