A splendid and rare example of a swing arm wall lamp from the 1960s, a perfect representation of Mid-Century Modern transatlantic design. This piece beautifully combines overseas textile craftsmanship with the structural purity of Scandinavian modernism. The lampshade, standing 31 centimetres tall, is an iconic piece attributed to the production of Danish couple Lotte & Gunnar Bostlund for their renowned Lotte Lamps factory (Oak Ridges, Ontario, Canada). It is made using their distinctive technique: a dense thread of natural rope (sisal/jute) meticulously wrapped around an internal fibreglass support. This craftsmanship creates a unique material texture and diffuses a warm, atmospheric light. The supporting structure features a flag-style adjustable arm made of fine solid teak wood, typical of Danish manufacturing of the era. The design is essential, geometric, and elegant, intended to integrate perfectly into a reading nook, above a sofa, or as a bedside light in a bedroom.
