French farmhouse/monastery benches made of softwood, from the 1st half of the 20th century. These types of benches were and sometimes still are in farms and monasteries. They are made of a soft wood, probably darkly stained spruce. But through use and polish they have acquired a dark patina. To be on the safe side, they have been treated against woodworm and have some old holes around them.
