104.5cm high X 67.5cm wide X 37cm deep X 36cm seat height. A beautifully worn early English Windsor armchair of restrained vernacular form. Constructed with a broad shaped seat beneath a graceful continuous bow and slender hand-finished spindle back, this piece has the quiet asymmetry and softened surface associated with early country furniture. The timber has developed exceptional colour and wear over generations of use, creating a richness that would be impossible to reproduce. A chair that feels equally sculptural and functional — ideal as a fireside chair, occasional chair or standalone decorative piece. Condition: historic wear, marks and surface variation throughout consistent with age and use. Structurally sound with beautiful age and character. Approximate date: late 18th–early 19th century (subject to further inspection). An increasingly difficult form to source with this level of simplicity and warmth.
