Norman wedding armoire in solid oak – mid-19th century this magnificent norman wedding armoire, made of solid oak, has its origins in the loire valley, in the anjou region. It was carefully made to order to celebrate the union of a young woman with a notary, in accordance with the 19th century tradition, according to which each future bride received a richly carved armoire, intended to contain her trousseau and accompany her in her new life. Witness to a marriage full of promise and hope, this armoire was carefully carved by a talented cabinetmaker. The floral motifs – roses, the bride's bouquet – symbolize the happiness, prosperity of the couple as well as tenderness and marital fidelity. Each door crosspiece, finely carved with floral scenes, adds to the elegance and unique character of this piece of furniture. Its door hinge is distinguished by delicate serrated fluting, bringing an additional touch of refinement to the whole. This sculpted detail, typical of norman know-how, subtly highlights the symmetry and harmony of the façade. Installed in the bridal chamber of a beautiful angevin residence, the wardrobe carefully housed the most beautiful embroidered linens and the personal effects of the young bride. It remained in the family for generations, proudly passed down from mother to daughter, playing an essential role: that of keeping, behind its two lockable doors, the family's memories and treasures. Its interior, composed of three shelves, is ideal for storing delicate linens, precious objects and souvenirs. The wardrobe rests on so-called "snail" feet, characteristic of norman furniture, and its back is entirely made of solid wood, a guarantee of robustness and longevity. It was assembled using the traditional mortise and tenon technique, guaranteeing remarkable solidity. Fully dismountable, .
