Superb authentic oil on canvas signed by the renowned Belgian landscape painter Léopold Lecomte (1877-1963). The work depicts a picturesque view of the famous village of Lissewege (Belgium), with its canal, traditional houses, and the imposing flat tower of its church in the background. The brushwork is generous, textured, and crafted with beautiful impasto typical of the artist's post-impressionist style. The painting is sold in a stunning custom-made American box frame in terracotta wood, which modernises the whole while enhancing the nuances of the work.
