Set of 6 Gispen 106 Dutch Industrial Plywood Chairs, 1960s

Original set of six Gispen Model 106 chairs, manufactured in the Netherlands during the 1960s. These distinctive Dutch industrial chairs combine molded plywood seats and curved backrests with tubular metal frames, creating a functional and highly recognizable modernist design. The continuous metal structure extends around the backrest to form an integrated upper rail, while the gently shaped plywood elements provide comfortable and practical seating. Designed with functionality in mind, the chairs can be stacked and are equally suitable as dining chairs, occasional seating or statement pieces in residential, hospitality and commercial interiors. The set remains in original vintage condition and has intentionally retained its authentic character. The tubular metal frames display attractive age-related patina and surface wear, while the plywood seats and backrests show variations in color and signs of decades of use. These characteristics form an integral part of the chairs’ industrial vintage appearance. A characterful and increasingly collectible set representing the functionalist tradition of Dutch 20th-century furniture design. Manufacturer: Gispen. Model: 106. Origin: Netherlands. Period: 1960s.
