Complete set of 12 fine earthenware plates from the Digoin Sarreguemines factory, illustrating scenes of rural life throughout the year from January to December. Each plate is decorated using the copper plate printing technique, a traditional transfer method that offers great finesse of line and a very precise depiction of the scenes. The compositions, inspired by popular imagery from the late 19th century, depict agricultural work, village leisure activities, and moments of daily life. The rim is treated in the paste, creating a trompe-l'œil effect of wickerwork. The decoration is elegantly framed by two painted blue lines, which subtly highlight the shape of the plate. Clear, colourless glaze. Stamped Digoin and Sarreguemines – France, stamp used post-World War I. Decoration created between 1877 and 1910, then reissued in the early 20th century. In beautiful vintage condition, with slight signs of use and possible micro-irregularities in printing, a chip under the August plate, a mini chip in the outer rim on the October and November plates, impressions in the wicker border on the November plate, blue rim defects on the March and April plates (see photos). Diameter 18 cm, height 2 cm. A heritage and narrative series, ideal for a family home decoration, refined cottagecore, or contemporary countryside, where the art of the table becomes a medium of memory and poetry.
