Description
✨✨✨ description ✨✨✨ Revive vintage! This vintage english portmeirion mug from the 1970s, from the "corsets" range, was designed by susan williams-ellis, founder of portmeirion pottery in 1960. It is a beautiful decorative object that takes up an advertisement for swanbill corsets, in a very correct vintage condition with some cracks and a crack at the base (see photos). The stamp on the underside is illegible, except for the mention made in england, but the analogy with other objects in the series leaves no doubt about its provenance. This range is now highly sought after. The mug is illustrated with a woman in a corset and captioned: ladies' warehouse, piccadilly - swanbill corsets - full particulars - post free - 6th type of figure - for short, stout figures, 14s. 6d. (ladies' warehouse, piccadilly - Swanbill corsets - full details - free shipping - 6th silhouette type - for short and sturdy silhouettes, 14shillings 6pence). It can be used as a small vase to present a bouquet of fresh or dried flowers. 🎥🎥🎥 history 🎥🎥🎥 Susan williams-ellis founded portmeirion pottery in 1960. An accomplished artist and author, susan studied at the chelsea school of art under henry moore and graham sutherland. His paintings have been exhibited at the festival of britain and many pieces from the village of portmeirion have been furnished with his textile designs. Susan's designs were at the forefront of contemporary style, and her 1972 creation, botanic garden, became a world bestseller of tableware. The pottery is now sold all over the world, but its spiritual home is still in portmeirion. 🔎🔎🔎 features 🔍🔍🔍 📏 ∅ 6cm - h 13cm ⚖️ 240 grams 💧1/4 liter.
