Handmade Desvres dish signed René Delarue

Decorative plate or presentation dish in desvres earthenware in slip with floral decoration. Handmade by René Delarue, master earthenware maker in Desvres who created many unique pieces that are now sought after. It is in the round, hemmed edge, with strong relief decorations. Piece of collection. Rare. René delarue 1912-1997. A former geo martel decorator, he handcrafted all kinds of earthenware with sometimes very surprising decorations and shapes. He also used colors that could be reminiscent of Vallauris. He will also create pieces with Gil Vicente Franco on the theme of fishing and the sea. In very good condition and beautiful shine; only a small missing part on one edge (see photo) which is barely visible. Diameter 27 cm.
